You shared about expecting Thomas in a comment last summer. I just came across it again and came over to read his story. I know it must have been an almost impossible ordeal, but the joy in your sadness and the hope in your story are so beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

Don't know what to say other than this story and the photographs brought tears to my eyes. You are one beautiful family and I am glad that Thomas's birth blessed you as you blessed him.

I posted before but it didn't show up. Thank you for sharing all of the pictures with us. This was so beautiful. I will continue to pray. I think of you guys in the mornings when I'm riding my bike early and I pass by your dad's house. I always pray for your family when I go by there. The story of Thomas is so incredible. It must be a comfort knowing that he is praying for you all.

We are praying for you and your family. Please tell your children that they have strangers praying for them, praying for their comfort!

Thomas is beautiful! You carried him in your womb, loved him and showed the world that his life mattered, and in so doing that you honored the Lord. Thank you for sharing his brief life with us.

My friend Kristi sent me the link to this post and oh my goodness, you have touched our hearts. Little Thomas has touched our hearts! My 8-year-old daughter, especially, was moved by these photos and is now praying for your family during our evening prayer.

We lost four of our children to miscarriage but were not able to meet them the way that you got to meet your son. One day! God is so very, very good. We don't always know His why but with faith & hope & love, we TRUST it.

He is precious. You are a hero for loving and supporting him and giving him life.

Such beautiful pictures and words. You never fail to inspire. It is so special that Julia and Joseph are Thomas' Godparents. I love you, friend! God has richly blessed you, and us for knowing you!

You and Terry continue to inspire with your love, faith, and obedience. The pictures and words on your blog are so beautiful and touching. Thank you so much for sharing your journey and sweet Thomas with us. It is an honor to know your family. Thomas is a beautiful baby and he will continue to bless so many. Love to you all! Tina

Thank you so much for sharing these moments with us. I am humbled not only by the beauty of this small, precious little boy, but also by the beauty of a family that brought him into this world and will love an cherish him always.
The pictures are beautiful.
I wish you all strength, love, and comfort in knowing Thomas is always with you.

Such a beautiful post Kirsten. The pictures are great, and we are all so blessed by you sharing Thomas' story with us. Praying for you all as always.

Oh Kirsten - thank you so much for sharing him with us. I am in awe. As blessed as you all were to have him in your lives, he was just as blessed to have had you all for his family. I pray you find comfort and peace during this painful time. Prayers and much love to you all. Xoxoxo

Praying for you and your family and that Thomas's story touches many with God's love.

Thank you for sharing your Thomas with us. The pictures of your family, all together, are beautiful. The tenderness and love in your children's faces for their baby brother is so evident. Prayers continue for all of you.

Kirsten, this is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I held it together until I got to the part about Julia and Joe being Thomas's Godparents, how special for them to be the Godparents of a precious little saint!! We are all so blessed to know your family!

I've thought of all of you so much over these last few days...and checked back here frequently hoping you wouldn't mind sharing more of Thomas' story. Thanks for the pictures, Kirsten, and the beautiful words. I will continue to pray. Much love to all of you.

My eyes are filled with tears. Tears that mingle sorrow and joy. So I can barely imagine all that is filling your hearts and minds. Thank you so much for sharing the photos of your beautiful son and the words of your nurses etc. Thomas has had such a meaningful existence, from my perspective as an outsider. It has been an honour to look on from a distance as you journeyed with him and to have the privilege of praying for him and you all. You are all in my prayers. May your little saint be eager in his prayers for those who held him and love him so.

About Me

  • Hi, my name is Kirsten. I am married to my best friend and we have nine awesome children including our little saint in heaven, Thomas Joseph. We are Catholic, loving, living, and learning about our faith every day. We just moved to a fixer upper farm here in beautiful Kentucky. We also homeschool some of our children. I really enjoy COFFEE, reading, gardening, running, and knitting. I try to enjoy, laundry and cleaning bathrooms and sweeping floors. But what I really love is to be home, with my husband and children, living this life. This blog is where I write about the good stuff (mostly). Thanks for stopping by!

Prayer to St. Joseph

  • PRAYER TO ST. JOSEPH THE WORKMAN Composed by Pope St. Pius X O glorious St. Joseph, model of all those who are devoted to labor, obtain for me the grace to work conscientiously, putting the call of duty above my natural inclinations, to work with gratitude and joy, in a spirit of penance for the remission of my sins, considering it an honor to employ and develop by means of labor the gifts received from God, to work with order, peace, moderation and patience, without ever shrinking from weariness and difficulties, to work above all with purity of intention and detachment from self, having always death before my eyes and the account that I must render of time lost, of talents wasted, of good omitted, of vain complacency in success, so fatal to the work of God. All for Jesus, all through Mary, all after thine example, O Patriarch, St. Joseph. Such shall be my watchword in life and in death. Amen.
