1)Sorry I have been a little light on posting as of late. We have just been busy. Which I think is a very good thing considering we just moved here. We have met a lot of great families. Everyone has been so friendly and welcoming. Two days a week we go to aerobics at one of the local Y's The moms workout and the kids play. At the end of the workout we pray. How cool is that?
2)My thoughts on aerobics...to be honest at first I thought "Eh, piece of cake, I'm a runner." Well, after the first class some of my muscles ached. This will be a great cross training workout for me. Unfortunately it is not as low impact as I would like. Praying my knees remain strong. (please!)
This picture is of Patrick holding two golf balls. The other day he ran up to Terry and said, "Dad! I just found two golf balls in the back yard!!" We had to explain to him that he can't pick up golf ball until the golfers played through. This is a very narrow course, so I've been told. We frequently find golfers in our backyard looking for their golf balls. They will never find them with Paddy back there. Have I mentioned how much I miss our land?
4) We finally found a library here. Our first attempt was very sad. The one closest to our house is in the same building as the DMV and health department. They had blocked off a corner of this building for a library. When we first walked in there Julia and I looked at each other and almost cried. Well, we hunted some more and found one a little further away, but well worth it. It is big and beautiful and packed with books. Julia was thrilled. She was like a kid in a candy shop. This is my stack this week.
5) In my stack of books are knitting books and watercolor books. I recently found among all the boxes, my knitting needles and yarn. This has now started my latest obsession (again). I am learning the purl stitch now. I keep messing up, but I am determined to get it down. I am going to learn how to knit because 1)They have the cutest yarn shops around here. 2) I need a reason to go in them. and 3) I am going to have a pair of homemade socks before winter by golly.
6) Paddy has caught the reading bug. It is thrilling to see that love for reading emerge. He frequently comes up to me and says "Mom, look how far I've got. " He is reading his first "big" book. It is a Star Wars book. Twaddle? Perhaps. BI ut he is reading and loving it.
7)I had quite the spam comment on Joe's 7 on 7 tournament post. It read, "Love is a fair garden and marriage a field of nettles." I did a "google" on the phrase and found this book of quotes. There are some goodies in there. Spam comments crack me up sometimes.
