Since it is the second Sunday of Advent I figured I should blog about Thanksgiving! Christmas will be here before you know it. I have yet to pull any Christmas decorations out. When I was at Kroger on Friday I found tiny jar candles in purple and pink. I snatched those up and that is as far as I have gotten.
So how are you? I can't explain my absence from this place other than my hours are all occupied. I haven't even been reading blogs as much as I used to. Reading blogs was part of my morning routine. I have been spending that time in quiet lately. I have been reading the Bible and journaling and saying my morning prayers. It has been very fruitful. I am not on Facebook (yet) so that hasn't been sucking up any of my time. I am contemplating getting up a little earlier so that I can fit in blog posts and reading blogs. I really do miss it.
Okay. Thanksgiving. It was not busy and it was quiet and we were all home together with no where to go. It was heavenly!! We woke up and went to Mass. We came home and I started making the sides while the children played games and watched the Macy's Parade. Julia made the pies. Terry was in charge of the Turkey, which we fried. We took out the fine china and crystal. Fancy!
While we were saying prayers someone little at my end of the table made a noise...it was not with his mouth. He thought it was hysterical, so did his older siblings at the other end of the table. He looked at his Grampa to try and throw him under the bus, but it didn't work, he was found out. I was so glad I had my camera out because the pictures are great. And yes, we did start prayers over again!!
On Friday the older girls and I got up early and did a little black Friday shopping. Terry called me and we all met downtown for reconciliation. It was wonderful! On Saturday we went to the wedding of a family friend. They were so gracious and invited all ten of us. There were lots of other children there. The Mass was beautiful and the reception was such a blast. My heart swelled with joy watching my kids dancing and having fun. They felt so special getting dressed up and going to a big party and being part of the very special day. I didn't have my camera so I didn't get any pictures. ARG!! But I won't forget the twinkle in their eyes and their laughter. It was so precious.
On Sunday we rested. It was a great weekend. I am savoring these times we are all together. The bigger kids are getting busier. In a few years the two older ones will be in college. Boo hoo hoo. Okay I'm going to stop now. I better get this up as I have been trying for over a week now. Goodnight peeps!
