This is fair warning my dear reader. There are a lot of pictures in this post. It could be much worse though. After there were about fifty in the draft I said to myself, "Kirsten, you can not put that many pictures up. You can't do it!" So see, I spared you!
Presenting Beauty and the Beast
Thank you for coming to the end!
This show was just awesome. The music is so fun and beautiful. The dancing was rigorous. They used a combo of music from the Disney movie and the Broadway musical. "Be Our Guest" and "Human Again" just plain fun. I worked backstage this year which was a blast. It is amazing how these shows come together. I worked opening night. Right before show time we were on the stage going over prop changes and I look over and all of the big girls got in a big circle held hands, bowed their heads and prayed. They were oblivious to all the hustle and bustle around them. I feel so blessed that Mary Jane is a part of this.
Amelia and her class were butterflies. They were in the very first act and just as precious as could be. I didn't crop out the little girl next to her because that is one of her BFFs and I know her Mama. Amelia loves being on stage.
Catherine's class were teacups. Also, just adorable and sweet. Catherine did so well and had no problem getting on stage this year. So proud of her!
Mary Jane was on stage the entire show it seemed. All of her dances were en pointe. She had four costume changes. So, there are more pictures of Mary Jane than the other girls because she was up on stage all the time!! Awesome! I watch her dance and I can't believe that is my daughter up there. She has really come into her own.
At the end of the show Terry gave her a hug and got all choked up. He told her what a pleasure it was to watch her. How she put your whole heart and soul into it. You could tell.
You know when a performer gives that final note of a song or last step of a dance and they throw their hands in the air and their face lifts to the sky and you can see that look of pure joy and satisfaction? She had that. It was amazing to see that look on her face. I had her focused in on my camera. I cried.
I felt so thankful to be there to see them. My beautiful dancers.
