Performance weekend....phew. I cry every year. This year there were extra tears. Man, are we gonna miss this ballet school, and the girls teachers. This was our third year with this school. I look back at where the girls started and where they are now and I am amazed. We are over the moon proud of them and how hard they worked.

 

I don't think I could ever put into words how I feel about my beautiful girls!

 
 
 
 

 

First Pointe Class

Julia's first pointe class was last week.  As beautiful as these shoes are, they are even more beautiful on. My friend Melissa's daughter is in class with Julia and she said it best "It was so sweet and funny-like watching little ones learning to walk." A whole new world...

Big day for Julia last Saturday. She received her pointe shoes. This is a HUGE milestone in the life of a ballerina. She was so excited and grinning from ear to ear the entire day. We went to the store with five other girls and their beloved teacher Mrs. W. The fitting for these shoes takes a long time, sometimes an hour or more. We were fortunate that the first pair of shoes that Julia tried on fit her. When Julia tried them on and went up on  pointe the woman fitting her for the shoes said "beautiful." I couldn't agree with her more.

 

 

 
 
 

Sunday Night Notes

We have had an extremely busy weekend. I have been all consumed just finished putting together my presentation on the Blessed Virgin Mary for "Our Catholic Faith" study. This study is so excellent. If this study is offered in your area I strongly encourage you to join in. I have been blessed abundantly by this study. I wanted to write about it each week but time just hasn't allowed. As I said,  I have the privilege  of presenting the Blessed Mother. I am AMAZED at what Scripture has revealed about the Mother of God. God's divine plan is incredible. What has also amazed me is how the New Testament fulfills the Old Testament. I have seen this week after week with this study concerning the Papacy, Baptism, Reconciliation, Marriage, the Eucharist, Salvation.... God's Word is incredible!!!  

 Julia, also got her first pair of pointe shoes on Saturday. Huge day for her, and me, (my baby girl!!!). That deserves a separate post though. 

We also made it to Mary Queen of the Universe Shrine this weekend for reconciliation. There is nothing better than God's Grace poured out upon you. Better than therapy!!

I am wiped out though at the moment and so I am off to bed. We have a big week ahead of us. We are going to Epcot for our Japan study, St. Patrick's Day, Ballet, Basketball, St Joseph's Day, Patrick's Birthday and we have to put some mileage in for the Nun Run. 

Isn't this a beautiful statue of St. Joseph and the Child Jesus. I love the way St. Joseph is looking at Jesus. Can you imagine the conversations between Jesus and His parents? How beautiful.

 

 
 

Alice in Wonderland

 

 Julia and Mary Jane had their ballet recital this past weekend. It was incredible. I cried. Watching them up on stage fills me with so many emotions. They simply amaze me. A lot of blood ,sweat, and tears went into getting ready for this. I am so very, very  proud of them.

 

All of Mary Jane's performance pictures are blurry. All of them :0(  She was adorable. It seemed she was on stage for almost all of the second half of the performance. Her class worked so hard and did such a terrific job.

 

 

 

L’enfant et les sortilèges

In other words, The Enchanted Child. The girls had their ballet recital today. It was incredible! This ballet was adapted from an opera. It is the story of a boy who refuses to listen to his mother's request to do his homework. The mother then refuses to give him his snack. At this, the boy then has a temper tantrum and starts to destroy the things around him. He pulls petals off of flowers. He throws down his book and teacup and torments his cats, just to name a few. All of the "things" that he mistreats come to life and show him how they feel about being mistreated. In the end the little boy realizes the error of his ways and lovingly reunites with his mother.

Not your typical ballet, but loads of fun. Julia was a fish and Mary Jane was the equal sign from his math book. This was there first ever recital. They were a bit nervous but did well. I am so proud of them I could burst. Oh, and of course I cried at the end.
