I have been reading A Mother's Rule of Life by Holly Pierlot. I have read this book about three times. Each time I discover something new and helpful. This time around though I am doing something a bit different. I am actually putting it all together. At the end of each chapter Holly has you answer questions to help you put together your Rule. I have a notebook and I am answering the questions. HUGE difference. I am also listening to A Mother's Rule of Life in the Domestic Church by Kimberly Hahn along with reading the book by Holly. Incredible! This CD set has been so wonderful and insightful. I have only made it to disc 4 (there are 12) because I keep re-listening to it again and again. So I am slowly putting together my Rule, establishing order in my home and my soul ;0) I am still trying to tweak the morning routine and trying to fit everything in that I want and need to do (morning prayer, milking the cow, feeding animals, feeding the kids, etc.) and not starting school at 11:00 am. That is just to late. Here is an idea, maybe morning prayer while I am milking the cow!? hmmmm....
I also have to tell you about the book I Believe in Love by Father Jean C.J. d'Elbee. I love, love, love this book. I think it is my new favorite. I have had this book for over a year and have just now picked it up and started reading it. It is so beautiful. It is based on the teachings of St Therese of Lisieux. And Father d'Elbee just puts it all together so perfectly. It is all about God's incredible Love for each and every one of us and His incredible mercy. I am only on page 42 because again, I keep re-reading everything. This book is so rich, and yet so simple. Just like St Therese herself!
