Daybook~ The "I can't believe it is already November, where did October go?!!" edition
Outside My Window...It is finally a little cool out today. It has been very warm here in Florida. We really have not had a fall at all. Our Sycamore trees have almost lost all of their leaves, however new leaves are popping up already because it is so warm. Poor trees are confused.

I am thinking about...how busy and full life is right now. I was talking with another mom about this the other day. This is just the season of my life right now. I am constantly reminding myself not to get caught up in all of the craziness or else this season will pass in a blur. I am focusing on the little moments.

I am thankful for... friends who take your dairy cow when you are 7 months pregnant and give you a really long maternity leave!!

From the learning rooms...We have tweaked and re-tweaked and everything is falling nicely into place. Along the Alphabet Path for Mary Jane, Patrick and the little girls and following various "rabbit trails" along the path. We are making Alphabet Books from Bare Books that we are filling up along the path.
highlights from "B" week:
Literature for the Young Lady for Julia and Adventures in the Sea and Sky for Joseph. He loves this program. I ditched their lesson planner and made my own so that I could have all of the boxes checked off. ( I know, I am a task master) This program is FULL of a lot of good things. Winterpromise even says that you could not possibly do it all, so we are taking what works for us. (and I am ok with that. (repeat))

From the kitchen...Pumpkin muffins
Roasted Chicken with roasted root vegetables and a salad made by Catherine :0)

From the farm.... Daisy had a little bull calf on September 24. We named him Howey. He was spared names like "Sir Loin" and "T-bone" because he is going to be a "service" cow. There is a high demand for miniature Jersey bulls. As far as milking Daisy..well she is a great cow temperament wise. She is little though, so the machine doesn't really work for her. I am back to hand milking. For those of you who want milk, we will have to wait until I wean the calf. I am getting about a gallon a day, and that is perfect for us. I will have extra when the calf weans, probably in January.
The garden is weeded and a few things are in. Not as much as I would have liked but we will see how it goes. Maybe in the spring I will have that big bountiful garden.(sigh)

I am creating..a skirt with Julia. It is her first attempt and I am there to help.

On my Ipod.... Earth, Wind, and Fire. nothing gets you up and moving like this group. Fun music!
*********
I am hoping..I can create calm during this busy season.
**********
I am hearing...kids talking and laughing.
